This is actually a serene and pleasant adaptation. It has the sharpness of M.C.Escher Did you "photoshop" the image or use vectors or layers? Is this strictly generated from a program or did you import any images? From the small size of the file, this looks pretty good and clean. Was the original JPEG much larger than the one you are using here?

thanks for the comment.
to answer your questions:
the picture is completely computer generated involving no photos. but not everything was done inside the 3d-program. the background was generated separately and the whole picture was touched up in paintshop pro. i rendered the this in the resolution you see here because with the old program render time was a big issue. the visible "soft focus" was actually not intended and is due to anti-aliasing.

wondering where's the location?

you do know it's not a photo, don't you? ;)
i made this in my old 3d program with a painting by american painter edward hopper for reference.
he, on the other hand, painted it in 1927 presumably looking at cape elizabeth's lighthouse in maine on the us-american east coast.
now looking at a satellite photo of the original i've just realized i put the ocean in the wrong place. :)

to see the original just search for "lighthouse hill" with google's image search and you'll find it.
the 3d program i've used here is called monzoom and it's indeed quite old as it was developed for amiga computers sometimes in the late 80s i think (though my version was a little newer). it's the program i've made my first steps in 3d with but it was very limited in function and i had to use some "tricks" to get this image.
